Vintage Ice Cream van hire with classic charm.
Mrs Whippy’s arrival can be announced by the traditional chimes from the vintage themed van, Patsy.
Patsy was the first ever Pink’s Vintage Ice Cream Van and is very dear to our hearts here at Pink’s! Named after our Nan, this van didn’t start out life as a pastel coloured van of happiness…
Patsy was a Christmas gift to Mrs Whippy back in 2003. Mrs Whippy’s husband bought the van as a project. She was rusty and pretty much ready for the scrap heap when we got her, but we were determined to turn her into a vintage ice cream dream.
After months of hard graft, she was ready for her first outing, vintage chimes and all. This beauty of a vintage ice cream van is now available to hire for your wedding, party or event!
Named after Patsy – our Nan.
Our first ever van was named in honour of our Nan, Patsy who wasn’t around to see the van returned to her former glory but was cheering us on from above.
Nan spent many years working as a chef at the BBC, where she met her husband Terry (who Terence the van is named after!). Nan was well known for her good ol’ English grub – and even had some celebrity fans… Nan’s ham egg and chips was always requested by the Beatles when they were filming at the BBC!
Patsy the vintage ice cream van serves the delicious classics of days gone by. Think ‘99s’, Oysters, a tub of ice cream, old fashioned ‘Screwballs’, Choc Ices and retro lollies.
All the old favourites are stocked including Cola and Lemonade Lollies, Strawberry Mivis, Cider Lollies and Cherry Brandies. All the ice creams are served with a choice of toppings and sauces, (including the essential Cadbury’s Flake!).
The van is festooned with pretty bunting and old-fashioned sweetie jars filled with the treats of yesteryear!
